Saturday Spotlight with a TUTORIAL! (SSHP04)

CLICK HERE for the Whimsy Blog Hop!!

Happy Saturday friends and welcome to a special edition of Saturday Spotlight!!  If you've already been over to the Saturday Spotlight challenge blog, then you've already feasted your eyes on all of the GORGEOUS and YUMMY creations from the design team!!  We are "spotlighting treat containers" this week!!  The Spotlight Divas would like to see you create your own version of a treat container!!
With Halloween/Fall  & Christmas closely knocking at our doors, we always seem to find a need to make a special treat container for our special spooksters...I sure miss the days when my kids had Halloween parties at school and I made up some fun stuff for them to pass out to their class!! :)  And it doesn't hurt to sweeten up those people that you love either with a special treat!!  :)

We also have a very lovely sponsor with us this week!!!

CLICK HERE to go to their website!
Pamela has generously donated TWO stamp sets to our Saturday Spotlight winner this week!
Please see the Saturday Spotlight challenge blog for further details!!  I had the pleasure of designing for this company for a 1 year term and the stamps are so fun to work with!! (You can view some of my FireCracker Designs by clicking HERE.)

**So for today, I have a special tutorial to share with all of you if you're scared out of your wits about making a treat container....here's how I made mine!**
(please be sure to check out the Saturday Spotlight challenge blog for the other Spotlight Divas creative display of yummy treats!)

**Here is my tutorial for a Hanging Cello Bag Treat**

Here are some things you will need to make one:
* 5x11 gusset cellophane bag (flat won't work because you will be creating a flat bottom)
*4 1/4" x 11" piece of card stock for your treat base
*Scor-Pal or Bone Folder, etc. (something to scor marks with.)
*Various matching ribbon or ribbons at about 18" in length
*cording (for hanger) at about 18" in length
*1/16" hand held circle punch (or size of cording width)
*Your focal point image - mine is the FireCracker Designs Medium Crow set! SO CUTE! (colored in with Copics, punched out with mega circle & giga scallop punches.)
*YUMMY TREATS!!!!

Step 1:  For mine, I used a Scor Pal on the 4 1/4" x 11" piece of choclate brown card stock.
You will need to scor on the 11" side at 4" and at 7".

Step 2:  This is the time where you will want to decorate your piece of card stock base if desired.  I've taken the two sizes of sunflower images from the Hangin' Around Scarecrow stamp set and stamped them in chocolate and vanillia inks.  Be sure that you remember that the middle portion will be the bottom of your treat and there will also be a "back side" to this...so don't stamp your images up-side-down!

Step 3:  You can see on my finished scored and stamped card stock base that I've placed the crow circle on the front of my treat base and you'll noticed that the "label" is up-side-down in this picture because that will be the "back side" of your treat holder.

Step 4:  Next you will fold your scor lines with your image on the front and punch a hole with your 1/16" circle punch at the top and through BOTH top and bottom pieces as shown in the picture.

Step 5:  Now you will need to take your 18" cording and place it through BOTH holes you've just punched and tie a knot at the end of it.  MAKE SURE there is plenty of cording as you will be placing this entire piece into a cello bag and you'll need room at the top for the cord to stick out for hanging.

Step 6:  Now you will need to take your card base treat with the cord tied into your empty cello bag and make sure that you push it all the way down and make the bottom of it flat.

Step 7:  Now comes the yummy part!!!  As you can see, I'm placing my chocolate pieces into the cello bag BETWEEN the pieces of the front and back of card stock base...the cording will still be sticking out at the top of the cello bag.  And try not to eat all the chocolate before you fill up your container!! LOL!!

Step 8:  Now after you've gotten all the treats inside, you will grab the top of your cello bag WITH THE CORDING STICKING OUT AT THE TOP and take your other various matching ribbon and tie the top of your cello bag closed!!  So easy and sooo fun!!

And here is what my finished Hanging Cello Bag Treat Container looks like when finished!  These are so much fun...especially to pass out to people without knocking on their doors or when you know they're not home!  I was always in a rush at Halloween with the kids, so I enjoyed dropping these treats off at different places for people that I knew was just as busy as I was! :)

I hope you've enjoyed my tutorial for you today!!  I would LOVE for you to make treat container and link it up to the Saturday Spotlight blog so that all of us Spotlight Divas can check them out!!  You could win a prize or even voted as the Top 3 creations we spotlight every Friday weeknight! (7:30 PM CST)  And you can make ANY treat you'd like...you don't have to use this tutorial to make one...just make a treat container!
And if you eat all the candy...just go out and get more! That's what I do!! :)
Thanks so much for stopping by today!!  Enjoy your weekend!!
