FCD Gets HOT!!! - Circular BLOG HOP!!

Hello!! Welcome to the FireCracker Designs blog hop!! :) Today, the FCD design team is going to "heat things up" for you by being creative with heat embossing! So sit back and enjoy!

If you've played along with us before, then you know that this is a circular blog hop which means that the only end is wherever you started your hopping! So for instance, if you start on my blog here to do your hoping, then you will continue to the next blog and so forth until you come all the way back to my blog...it's that easy! And it won't be hard to remember where you've started as there are only nine of us all together! Don't forget that to be eligible for the the yummy prize, you will need to leave a comment on EVERY blog throughout the blog hop as the name will be pulled by Pamela from a "mystery hostess blog"! She will contact you via e-mail if you're the winner, so please leave your details in your comment! You can also of course see the announcement on Pamela's blog Wednesday, July 29th at 8:00 PM (EST) to see if you've won! So let's heat thing up, shall we?!!

I have to tell you that the results of this picture do not do the pretty flower any justice! I've done a really cool technique that I've never tried before. And what technique did I do you ask? Well, I did the Acetate-Embossed Gold technique from Pamela's blog! You can actually see a whole big list of techniques and tutorials on her blog HERE!
The tutorial called for "slick pens", well if you have these glitter gel pens, then this is what you need to try out with them!! It is soo very stunning! As you can tell, I did my embossing with gold on the black card stock and the acetate was stamped, colored on the back with my glitter pens and overlaid on the embossed gold flower. (I used gold brads to attach the acetate.) I've used the Black Eyed Susan set with this one as well as the Doodles 7-Crazy 4 Paisleys set for the panel on the right by stamping with various colors to make the Depth of Field technique. And then I also used the Phrases Set 1 and heat embossed the words in black detail powder at the top. The sketch actually came from Pamela as well...(yes, this lady does it all! LOL!)...you can see all the sketches she has available HERE. The particular card sketch I used for this one is the FCD09 sketch. So if you ever need some inspiration, check those out!

I thought you might like to see this sparkly flower up close, but again, the picture does not do this any justice if you had seen it IRL! (You can click the picture for an even larger view if you fancy that.) There's so many fun ways to use heat embossing!! What's your favorite?

**Don't forget about Pamela's pre-order special going on!! You can see two brand new stamp sets that she's just came out with HERE! 2 new half sheets (5.5×8.5″) sets up as a pre-order special! Each set is regularly $12.99, but for this special, you can get them for $10.99 each!! So take a hop over there while you're doing this blog hop!! :)**
(Pamela is also working on a couple more sets that should be out next week! So stay tuned!)

*Also, if you LOVE the FCD stamps like I do, then perhaps you want to consider becoming a FireCracker Design Team Member?! You can see full details on how to apply HERE!*
P.S. Good luck!

I want to thank you SO MUCH for stopping by today and taking a ride on our "HOT" blog hop train!! Speaking of which, you probably want to know where to go next, huh? Well, you will need to stop over to the talented Marie's Blog to see what she's got cooked up for you!

Have fun and I hope you enjoy the blog hop!!

This is gorgeous, Vicki! I bet it's brilliant IRL. I can just see the sparkle and the gold embossing and that's so hard to capture w/ a camera. Wonderful technique and beautifully executed, I might add.

Cool technique--I looked at the ultra-closeup to study it more. I like the gold edge around the panel, too. Oops! I should have said "HOT" technique!
