Memorial Weekend Blog Hop!!!

Hello my friends!! Hope you are all having a wonderful Memorial Weekend!!

I am so thrilled to be participating in the Cards for Heroes Blog Hop and I hope that you are having so much fun checking out all the fun red, white & blue eye candy!! I hope that I can add some more of that eye candy for you here!

Now, I am very new to the Cards for Heroes and didn't know much about them until someone told me about this blog hop. I went to the website to check out what they were all about and I have to say how impressed I was with how organized and the way everything is handled just from the website. I loved how they keep everyone informed with where everything is going and what they do with everything they get. I was also impressed with the extra information about what and how to send your cards to donate (even for kids to get involved with). For instance, I didn't realize that you could not send anything with glitter on it as it may "give away" their position to the enemy. (These are just a few things that you don't think about.)

I have family members that are or have served in the military and touched by all the support that is given to the well deserved men and women serving our country being away from their own families and how a simple card can mean so much in communication with their families.
I plan on sending several more cards to them as I've been very inspired with the website and I hope that you will be too when you see the over pouring support that I'm sure this blog hop will bring to everyone this Memorial Day weekend! Thanks for stopping by and participating!

You may already be aware of where this stamp set comes through the blog hop already. The stamp set that I used here is from the So Far Away stamp set by FireCracker Designs and is one of the prizes being given away on this blog hop!! I am a proud design team member for this company and have really enjoyed creating with this stamp set all month long. I had fun getting out my stash of patriotic papers and embellishments for this! The mail carrier was stamped with navy ink and embossed, cut out and placed over the brown image. I also stamped the stars along the side panel and the sentiment is also from the set.

Here's another patriotic card I created especially for those serving in the Army branch!
I also design for another REALLY fabulous rubber stamp company called DRS Designs! There was NO designer paper used on this creation!! Everything you see on this card are all stamps! DRS has such a huge variety of fabulous designs that work together to help you create the look you desire! For instance, I used the Open Plaid image (P631) to create the panel of red stripes you see and I also used the Interlocking Star Background image (H819) in silver ink on the blue panel which creates the look of special background paper! DRS has a variety of Patriotic images to choose from as well beside just the Army Seal image (G919) that you see here.
