Hello friends!! I thank you for joining me today for another Tuesday's Hidden Potential! Today, the Hidden Potential will be a little different than normal! Usually I focus on a stamp image or stamp set to share the potential with you. Well, I AM doing this, however, I double challenged myself by teaming up with Laura (Scrapnextras) for her "Using Up Your Stash" challenge!!! Please go on over there to play along in her challenge!! SHE WANTS YOU to use up your OLD papers too!! Link your creation to her blog post to play along!
I had sent her an e-mail and told her that I have SO MANY designer papers and REALLY old Stampin' Up! papers and if she was the same, to please have us be challenged in using up THAT stash!! lol!! She accepted that challenge!!! So here are the close up details of the projects that I created using the FireCracker Designs stamp set called Fruit Cup:
For this project, I made a little purse creation with my Stampin' Up! 5-in-1 envelope template to create the purse! I used a Velcro piece to hold the flap down and keep it closed up.
The paper is of course some old retired 2003 Stampin' Up! papers called Sweet and Sassy Designer Series Papers!! LOL!! Do I ever need to use up this stash!! :)
I also measure a lining for my purse flap with some Going Gray card stock. I created a flap accent with the strawberry from the set, colored with watercolor crayons and added some touches of Stickles to it. I punched holes at the top of the purse for the ribbon to go through to create a handle for the purse.
BWHAA!! HAAA!! OK...you have to admit, this one is funny!! I love that sentiment!! Leave it to Pamela to create something like this one!! :)
For this card I just used a panel of the yummy "old" Sweet and Sassy paper, layered it around some black and stamped the lemons. Then I just added some Shimmerz and Stickles to it to make it look even more yummy!! Don't you LOVE the yellow?!!
The ribbon is strung through a metal ribbon slide from Stampin' Up!
And here's some more of that Sweet and Sassy paper that I used to cover the outside of my circle Blue Berry Book!! All I did was use some circle coasters, cover them with this "OLD" paper, sanded it down and ran it through my Bind-It-All machine! (Very cool machine BTW!)
I stamped some blue berries and the sentiment from the set and some of those blue berries are popped out. I also used some Shimmerz on the blue berries.
All that was left to make some pages for with a circle cutter and then ran it all through the Bind-It-All machine, add the wire, and then tie some yummy ribbons on it!!
I thank you so much for stopping by today and joining me to see the potential of fruit and OLD papers!! :) Now, you will certainly not want to miss the VERY talented lady and see what she did with the OLD papers that she had in her stash!! Hop over to Laura's blog and check it out! Hope you find potential in challenging yourself to use up your stash and join them with your new stamps in creative ways!! :) Please play along in Laura's challenge and link to her blog so she can see what YOU did! Have a great day!! : )
